Tile Price: How Much Will Your Flooring Cost You?

Is tile price the first thing you look at when choosing flooring? I’ve drawn up a list of the most popular tiling on the market today and their corresponding tile price.

Tile price varies depending on your country, region, labor costs, and the type of material you choose. In other words, the tile prices below are not gospel. However, the list provides a good ballpark of how much you can expect the average tiling project to set you back so you can use it to get an estimate of your future tiling expenses.

Ceramic tile price. This ranges from $5 to $15 per square foot for the material and $6 to $8 for the installation.

Stone tile price. Stone tiles cost between $7 and $20 per square foot. Installation charges, on the other hand, is pegged at $6 to $8 per square foot. Keep in mind, however, that tilers usually charge more than that for stone installation because stone tiles are heavier to lug around and work with than their vinyl and ceramic counterparts.

If you are planning to use granite, marble, travertine, and the like for your flooring, make sure you’re not working on a tight budget. Stone tiles are by far the most expensive tiling option for homeowners here and abroad.

Vinyl tile price. By far the cheapest tiling choice on the market, vinyl tiles only cost between $1 to $4 per square foot for materials. Installation is even cheaper, at $1 to $2 per square foot.

Does vinyl’s tile price mean you should choose vinyl flooring? That’s up to you and your budget. Just remember that even though tile prices vary from state to state and country to country, you essentially get what you pay for in material and installation.
